The Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio (KFNWO) has many opportunities for our friends to volunteer and support patients. We hope you will join us in our mission: Empowering Patients to Manage Kidney Disease.
Events
The Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio has three major events each year: The Kilometers for Kidneys Walk in the spring, the Kidney Klassic Golf Tournament in the summer and the Wine Affair in the fall. We also host a few smaller events such as a pancake breakfast, and a mud volleyball tournament during the summertime as well. We always can use volunteers to help plan, be creative, do projects or help the day of the event. We have an Events Committee that meets and works as a team to execute each event. If you like planning, events, meeting people, organizing or just want to help, we would love to hear from you. We welcome new ideas of new events for those who have a passion and interest in certain areas.
Internships
Students rarely get the chance to learn about non-profit organizations during their schooling. Through this volunteer internship, students can learn how these organizations are run and can participate in event planning, financing, grant writing, research into kidney disease, as well our high school education program and speakers bureau. This is a great opportunity for those who are willing to dedicate time and effort to reap the reward of a better future.
Office Volunteers
These individuals are responsible for answering the phones, data entry and other smaller office duties. Team up with the KFNWO staff and other volunteers as we meet the needs of our patients.
Committees/Board of Directors
KFNWO has several volunteer committees that can use volunteer support. Our Development Committee focuses on fundraising efforts and donor relations. Our Patient Services committee focuses on the services we offer patients and meeting their needs. Our Finance Committee helps oversee our financials. We also have opportunities for those who would like to serve on our Board of Directors.
