On June 28th, as a part of the Rock the Block in the Old South End coordinated by the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, our Community Outreach Coordinator joined a group of volunteers that braved the heat to landscape three homes. Together, they beautified the Old South End neighborhood and brought some joy and pride to the homeowners they helped.
On June 21st, the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio, in partnership with our colleagues at UToledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, conducted A1C, glucose, and blood pressure screenings at the City of Toledo's 2nd Annual Homeownership Fair at Jesup Wakeman Scott High School in Toledo’s Old West End.

On June 19th, the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio, in partnership with our colleagues at UToledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, conducted A1C, glucose, and blood pressure screenings at the 2025 Bryan Jubilee in Bryan, Ohio.

On April 22, 2025, our community outreach coordinator, Paul Viafranco, was at Sofia Quintero Arts and Cultural Center's women's health fair with our partners at UToledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, performing A1C, glucose, and blood pressure screenings.
Due to staff taking time off for the Easter holiday, this month’s KFNWO support group will not be held this Thursday. We look forward to joining our partners at the Scott Center for next month’s event on Thursday, May 15th.
On March 29th, 2025, Northern Lights Masonic Lodge #40 held its 27th Annual Pancake Breakfast to benefit the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio (KFNWO). The event featured an all-you-can-eat breakfast with eggs, pancakes, grits, and breakfast meat, along with a silent auction.
The Mercy nurses provided essential services such as blood pressure and blood sugar tests, while KFNWO offered A1C tests to those in need. Mercy Community Health nurses have been providing free mobile health screenings in our community for more than 30 years.
