The Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio (KFNWO) had the pleasure of presenting its initiatives in kidney health to the Bryan Rotary Club members and guests last Friday. The event underscored KFNWO’s commitment to community engagement and education on kidney disease prevention and management.
KFNWO’s mission is to support individuals living with chronic kidney disease, their families, and healthcare providers. The foundation aims to alleviate the burdens associated with the disease—both emotional and financial—while promoting prevention through public education. Services offered include direct family support, collaboration with treatment teams, community awareness campaigns emphasizing early detection, patient advocacy, and the promotion of organ donation.
The foundation’s efforts are bolstered by the generous support of local organizations such as the United Way of Williams County and the Bryan Area Foundation. These partnerships enhance KFNWO’s ability to provide essential services, including transportation assistance, prescription aid, and medical equipment funding, thereby improving the quality of life for kidney patients in Northwest Ohio.
Engagements like the recent presentation to the Bryan Rotary Club are vital for fostering community partnerships and spreading awareness about kidney health. KFNWO continues to seek opportunities to collaborate with local organizations to further its mission of combating kidney disease through education, support, and advocacy.
