On July 31st, the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio (KFNWO), in collaboration with Mercy Health Nurses and the UToledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, conducted blood pressure, glucose, and A1C screenings at the Leading Families Home (LFH) facility located on Ashland Avenue in the Old West End of Toledo. As part of our mission to provide kidney health services to all, we partnered with LFH to deliver these services to individuals who are temporarily unhoused, uninsured, or underinsured.

The Mercy Health Nurses generously offered blood pressure and glucose tests, while KFNWO and a volunteer from the UToledo College of Pharmacy administered A1C tests when necessary. LFH provided sanitation packages and toiletries to participants of the screenings. It was a privilege to provide screening services to both the occupants of LFH and the Ashland staff.

We want to extend our gratitude to the staff at Leading Families Home for coordinating the event and welcoming us to offer these important health services. A special thank you also goes to the Mercy Health Nurses, the volunteer from the UToledo College of Pharmacy, and all the LFH occupants and staff for their enthusiastic participation. We look forward to serving this community more in the future!
