We are so excited to launch the new and much improved website for our organization at kfnwo.org. We have added more than 100 pages of information about chronic kidney disease, our services and available community resources. Kudos to Paul ViaFranco, our community outreach coordinator, Mike Cartell and The Cartell Group for programming and design, Glenna Frey from Kidney Donor Conversations, and several of our board members who provided feedback and expertise.
The Kidney Foundation is launching a monthly meeting for those with chronic kidney disease, end stage renal disease or who are newly transplanted. Caregivers and family members are also welcome to attend. The meeting will take place from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Mott Branch Library, 1010 Dorr St. in Toledo. We will meet the third Thursday of each month and tailor future discussions to group interests. Light refreshments will be provided. This event is co-sponsored by KFNWO, the Scott Center for Observation, Treatment and Transition and Ohio Sickle Cell and Health Association. Call our office at 419-329-2196 x202 with questions.
Kelly Mofield, our executive director, joined the Findlay Rotary Club for a two-part discussion on chronic kidney disease and organ transplantation. During the first week, Kelly gave a presentation on kidney health and the work of KFNWO. The second week, (left to right) Michael Momany and his wife Deb (transplant recipient), Kim Switzer (pancreas and kidney transplant recipient), Kelly Mofield and Julie McIntosh (living kidney donor) all shared their stories. We were so inspired by their courage and commitment to their health journeys.
Please let us know if we can attend your community health event or speak to your club or organization to provide information on kidney health and KFNWO services.
Kindey disease affects more than 1 in 7 US adults. Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of our friends and neighbors in Northwest Ohio that are living with kidney disease.
