On November 13th, 2025, the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio (KFNWO), in collaboration with the Eastern Community YMCA and the UToledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, conducted blood pressure, glucose, and A1C screenings at the Eastern Community YMCA located in Oregon, Ohio. As part of our mission to provide kidney health services to all, we partnered with the Eastern Community YMCA to deliver these services to members of the YMCA, many of whom were seniors.

The Eastern Community YMCA also hosted a lunch and learn event with healthy snacks. Here, our Community Outreach Coordinator, Paul, shared information about chronic kidney disease,  prevention tips, and details about KFNWO’s services. Together, the YMCA and KFNWO worked to raise awareness and deliver helpful preventative messages to the community.

We want to extend our gratitude to the staff at Eastern Community YMCA for coordinating the event and welcoming us to offer these important health services. A special thank you also goes to the volunteers from the UToledo College of Pharmacy and all the staff who helped promote the screening and education session to their YMCA classmates. We look forward to serving this community more in the future!
