On October 23rd, 2025, the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio (KFNWO), in collaboration with the St. Lucas Lutheran Outreach Program and the UToledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, conducted blood pressure, glucose, and A1C screenings at the St. Lucas Lutheran Church located in the Old South End of Toledo. As part of our mission to provide kidney health services to all, we partnered with the St. Lucas Lutheran Outreach Program to deliver these services to unhoused individuals in the immediate area.

The St. Lucas Lutheran Outreach Program generously offered hot meals, warm clothes, and toiletries while KFNWO and volunteers from the UToledo College of Pharmacy administered blood pressure, glucose tests, and A1C tests when necessary. Together, we were able to cast a wide net of services to this underserved community.

We want to extend our gratitude to the staff at St. Lucas Lutheran Church for coordinating the event and welcoming us to offer these important health services. A special thank you also goes to the volunteers from the UToledo College of Pharmacy and all the local community members for their enthusiastic participation and for taking health into their own hands. We look forward to serving this community more in the future!
