On June 28th, as a part of the Rock the Block in the Old South End coordinated by the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, our Community Outreach Coordinator joined a group of volunteers that braved the heat to landscape three homes. Together, they beautified the Old South End neighborhood and brought some joy and pride to the homeowners they helped.

Afterwards, he set up an information table to let people know about the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio’s resources and programs. It was a great atmosphere of music, food, and community.

We would like to thank the Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity for coordinating the event and keeping volunteers safe from the heat. And we would like to give a special thanks to Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center and everyone in the Old South End Initiative for inviting us in and making us feel like family. Together, we’re making Toledo beautiful one block at a time!
